Mothers’ Day

My family doesn’t have the tradition of celebrating Mothers’ Day, neither do we have the habit of giving our mum gifts. This year, inspired by Gek Peng, I did somthing special =D

I was bored as the mugger me have finished my script, leaving with homework that cannot be done until I get the necessary stuff. So Gek Peng was saying that she’s going to make oneh oneh for her mum and she gave me a blog with lots of recipes. After browsing, I was thinking of making some dim-sum and desserts for my mum too. I chose steam radish cake, yam paste, honeydew sago and oneh oneh from the list; all those that don’t require baking cause I don’t have an oven =x

Anyway, after disturbing and consulting Gek Peng several times, I didn’t make any of those -.- My final decision was actually honeydew sago, since the market has closed by the time I’m willing to drag myself to get the ingredients. But when I was doing some research on it, I found this blog on Google which is about Mango Sago instead! So I was determined to make that and finally went to get the ingredients.

I bought more mangoes than required to float the dessert =D

I also cooked much more sago than stated in the recipe because I found lots of sago at home =x

There’s still an unopened pack =D

The process was rather easy…except for I don’t have a blender, so I gotta “chop” the mangoes with my spoon into this

Look gross? But the result was excellent ok!

Everything’s great! Except that the mangoes are a little sour at certain parts, so they didn’t blend with the dessert, which is meant to be SWEET. And yea, and except for the aftermath mess too =x

But hardwork comes before a “bowl of  satisfation” =D

Hopefully my mum will even try it. She’s quite a spoiler..at times.
