NDP Preview!

Somehow I wasn’t that excited for the preview, probably because I know it’s gonna draw the end of our NDP journey even closer x.x
But ironically, I’m feeling the post-performance excitement now! Hehe!

Despite not being as excited initially, I was all ready for it!
Even my pulse is beating for the country, damn patriotic luh! HAHAHA!

For once I wasn’t late for practice, thanks to the free ride! Hehe!
It’s not exactly a FREE ride because I paid a high price of getting suan-ed like don’t know what D:

“你是…很少坐车 huh?”
Because I did not put on seat belt -___________-|||

And then I was complaining about the costume…

“I don’t even wear long pants lor! My friend whom I’ve known for years was even shocked to see me in one!”

“So what’s your reason for not wearing pants?”

“Because… (before I finished…)”

“It makes you look shorter right?”

“Yah!!! Omg! You don’t have to be so straightforward right! (T.T) At least let me say it myself and I won’t be so … arghhhhhh!”

“*LOL* Okay okay! Let’s do it again! So what’s your reason for not wearing pants? *LOL*”

Had Mac for lunch and Tiffany wasn’t around to help me eat some McWings D:
But I managed to give away 1 in the end as well as the corn! Hehe.

Then these 2 aunties sitting opposite us were rather intrigued by me somehow! Not being BHB here but they started asking me questions like how old I am and so on, then 1 of them even requested to take a photo OF me! LOL!

I refused and insisted that I take together with her, because it’s just so weird for someone else to take a picture of you for no apparent reason! Lyn even joked that the auntie wants to match-make me to her son…hahaha!

Supposed to change right after lunch but we were all damn reluctant, cause it’s gonna be so hot! And I really hate wearing the costume! So we slacked around a little first until we could not procrastinate any longer =/

Watched through our videos for last week’s performance and we were trying to spot each other! Mad embarrassing! But luckily I was standing behind, so I guess I wasn’t caught much on camera! WY on the other hand appeared many times…LOL.

It’s just madness because we were just given 4 McWings for lunch and now KFC chicken + drumlets for dinner?! Seriously mad cow chicken disease!!! My brother was damn thankful to have them though, cause I da-bao the remains back…haha!

While eating, some minister came to visit us to show support and of course we had to welcome him and so on… Then there was a point when he looked right at me and smiled (probably my hair attracted his attention -.-), so obviously I just smiled back right?

Lyn: You know him ah???

Me: Yah my father -_________-”

LOLOLOLOL.
She’s damn cute and innocent can?! Hahahahaha!

Rushed to the washroom to do the last minute 打扮! Hehe.
Refused to tie the same plaits as last weekbecause I really can’t stand it -.- But I might have to do it again on the actual day, since it’s the only 1 of the 3 approved hairstyles =/

All ready for the preview show!

We did not really practise at all for the day until our usual final run-through at the F1 tracks…
Felt rather uneasy because I would rather we practise than to conserve what energy! =/

Set off to the floating platform and this is the cousin that I mentioned earlier on (:
She loves to stick to me and play with my hair as well! She even wants me as her girlfriend…haha!

It can be rather exhausting to handle the little ones sometimes, but they just make me feel so loved when each of them is trying to pull me towards their individual side! Haha! And I even had 2 of them each holding 1 of my arms, escorting me to the floating platform! xD

Performance was great but it wasn’t my best shot in terms of energy level…
Perhaps I was too worried about forgetting the steps that I forgot about high-ness!

But something hilarious did happen during the finale!
I was trying to capture the fireworks with my Polaroid camera but gave up after an epic failed shot (I was tricked by the confetti). And because the fireworks always happen right before we run out for finale, Lyn and gang were rather kan chiong helping me to squeeze my camera back into the pouch!

In the midst of doing that, the fireworks started and people in front of us started running out! So Lyn and I ran along with them, only to find out that those are not our people; they aren’t even in our costumes!!! LOL!

So we ran back immediately and right after we reached all the blue suits people, everyone started running out! So we ran out again but at least with the right group of people this time round…ROFL!

But at the end of the day, each of us has got 1 for keepsake! (((:

I wanted to use up the films to take with other people like Hidayah as well, but we didn’t have time for that because they were rushing us to go back D:

Then when I wanted to take with her solo, this guy popped by and asked if he can join as well…LOL.

I literally dragged Clarence across the floating platform to help us take this shot! xD

Back to the F1 pit building to collect our stuff before heading to Flyers (in our costumes) because Lyn wanted to take photos with her sister and friend! Kinda embarrassing but it’s more awkward if she has to wear it alone…haha!

Me: Eh we meet you straight at Flyers!

Me: We are at the ticketing counter area!

And it’s because we were already heading to change! LOL.

Messy communication + made him wait for us; felt damn bad luh!
But we already made it the fastest by changing together in the handicap toilet! >.<

So he finally got his well-deserved treat from us!
Of course he tried to treat us again, but we managed to get the uncle to accept our money instead…hehe.

We had cheng teng instead because we just had ice-balls last week (:

Oh he claimed that I’m the most drama one that he has ever come across after so many years of NDP, but look who’s speaking! Got him to help us shuffle the Polaroids so that we can pick and he pretended that he’s playing cards -_______-|||

All good things must come to an end

Lately, the performers (including me) are all getting emotional over the impending end of our 2011 NDP journey~ I know there’s always next year, but I believe each year is just different…

Like even when I watch back on our 2004 performance, there is this feeling that words can’t describe. It’s a mixture of pride and nostalgia (:

And I know when I look back at these pictures one day, I will be flooded with memories like how it is now!

I’m gonna miss everyone and everything, really.
The audition, the practices, the people, the friends, the in-charge, the trainers; everyone and everything (:

On a brighter note, I’ve finally gotten my reserved book – Something Borrowed and Polaroid films!

Gonna try using them on Saturday!
I even chose Mickey because Lyn and WY love it! Teehee~

A part of me hope Saturday will arrive faster, but a part of me don’t x.x

雨天

Finally my Mac has been transformed from Leopard to Snow Leopard! I know right, I’m damn slow! Haha! But sometimes I’m just too satisfied with what I have and I would rather not make any changes =/

It’s rather ironic because at the same time, I dislike mundane stuff and I get excited when there is something new! Like now, Snow Leopard makes me feel cooler and I might Lion it soon! xD

Lunched at Great World City and there was this Korean/Taiwan fair which I really can’t figure out which is it. But anyway, we saw some abnormal watermelons!

I’ve seen this square one on TV before~ So cute!!!

And then here is the 30kg watermelon, which I could barely lift it up! Crazily big!!!

Went for training alone because Joanjoan wasn’t feeling well and Mimi decided to give it a miss as well~ It turned out that even Mr Lame wasn’t around as well =O

But that doesn’t mean that we were slacking away or anything close, because the female coach conducted the class and her combos were pretty challenging too!

In fact she had this accumulative kicks for 1 of the combos and I was like, “Sounds fun!” Then my partner went, “Fun?! Sounds tiring!” LOL. Oh well, it’s just something new! (:

Queen’s 22nd!

WhatsApp is an awesome app as it helps to save lots of SMSes, but I didn’t know it can tire one so much too :S

Sometimes I’ll be so lazy to type especially when I’m still not very used to the keypad and auto-correct is such a biatch at time -.- But then again, when it comes to planning something, it really saves lots of SMSes.

So anyway, the nurses were planning a surprise for the Queen and I was the “WhatsApp middleman” to coordinate between the clique and them~ Quite a mess and I decided to just give both sides each others’ contacts! =/

Cause I know I wouldn’t be able to make it at that timing and I had to throw everything back to Germain eventually…so sorry! I’m glad that the surprise plan worked out well even though I wasn’t there to witness it (:

Of course Gui played a big part in it too by using 学校 instead of void deck in case Queena checks his phone (which he claimed to be a daily thing)…LOL!

Joined them after work at the famous crab place near Gui’s house even though I wasn’t planning to eat; I’m in saving mode! Haha! I’m not a dinner person anyway~

Decided to show face nonetheless since it’s the Queen’s birthday~
But sadly, the birthday girl didn’t even notice my presence! x.x

Germain was trying so hard to get her attention on my behalf…LOL.

Queen’s 22nd in advance~

Finally HP-ed! My brother was like rushing me to watch it because he thinks that it’s not that nice and he wanted to know my opinion as well~

Well, it’s indeed below my expectation since this is like the so-called “last episode” and we will usually expect a lot from it. But there wasn’t really any exciting or heart-racing moments that I can recall of…hmmmm.

Maybe those who have read the books would have enjoyed it more because I’m always lost after the previous instalment…hahaha! Oh well..that’s what Wikipedia is for right? xD

Travelled down to Peperoni Pizzeria after that to celebrate Queena’s birthday in advance~ After a year or so of telling them about the gigantic pizza, TCC and I finally brought them there! (:

We ordered 2 family pizzas to be shared amongst 9 of us! It’s pretty thin actually~

I don’t know if the guys were full from the pizzas or not because I think the portion is just nice~ TCC was only 50-60% full though =X

Since the birthday girl wanted to eat ice-cream, I brought them to Island Creamery~

It’s supposed to be a popular place but somehow the guys did not finish their ice-creams; even the staff was shocked by the amount left. But I think they ordered the wrong flavours in the first place…haha!

Cam-whoring while they were eating…hehe.
I do look kinda pale though, as commented by Queena =/

NE Show 3!

So sad! Didn’t take that many photos this week x.x
But even more sad that NDP is coming to an end in 2 weeks’ time!!! Sigh~

Anyhow, I tried not to be late for practice again this week and somehow I failed again despite preparing earlier again! But luckily I was offered a ride! Hehe.

I realised I could have saved all my energy rushing for the past weeks, and also the long travelling duration if I had known this kind soul earlier! Hahaha! Not that I’m the kind who takes advantage of people okay, but it’s 顺路嘛～

Skipped the lunch again and joined Hidayah and gang straight this time round (:
Went into the auditorium for a round of practice before having our ice-cream again!

I wasn’t in an ice-cream mood because we just had it last week, but I admit that I was kinda hungry…haha!
And I got chocolate for the third time againnnnn -______- 阴影！(Inside joke~)

Speaking of that, I think Clarence and I have too many inside jokes and “secret language“…hahaha!

Then during the lucky draw for preview tickets, he drew someone whom we kinda “bitched” about together…

Changed into our costumes and had 1 more round on the field before leaving~
It wasn’t sunny at all, but the costume was enough to make us perspire like crazyyyyy =/

Finally not rice for dinner! Despite being famished, I think 4 wings is crazy -.-”
Luckily Tiffany was very willing to eat 3 for me! Hahaha!

Oh my cute partner was dying to tie french braids for me but I had to reject him because I think I will look like some 妈姐 with that hairstyle! Haha! So I tied something that at least I’ve tried before…hehe.

As a result, I decided to give out mine in a first-come-first-serve basis to be fair…

And the kiasu winners were Elvis and Yinning! Haha!
But because Chong couldn’t make it, Yinning came with her cousin aka Shu Jun aka my secondary schoolmate! ^^

The first time we really spoke to each other, she shocked me with her first question – “Do you have a boyfriend?” LOL. Kids nowadays are super direct!

Lyn also met up with her mum and sister, so we decided to give the ice ball a miss. But on the other hand, I had already told Clarence that we would be going over and he was already there x.x

So eventually Lyn and I decided to go over to apologise for the last minute pangseh…
Then everyone there started asking us to sit down and so on, and somehow we just ended up with them instead! Hahaha!

Clarence even treated us to the ice balls even though it was supposed to be us, or rather, me treating him instead x.x

Super sticky and gao wei as usual, but I decided to head to Esplanade to join Yinning, Shu Jun and the latter’s friend as well. And this was how the introduction goes:

I think it was since graduation! Gosh.

She’s so funny luh! Yinning and her were telling me how great the show was and Shu Jun even said, “Eh 我看了这个 show 后 hor, 我真的有喜欢新加坡 leh!” LOL.

Gossiped our way to AMK before she left to take bus~
Then Yinning and I ended up standing and chatting along the roadside for close to 2 hours! Haha!

I think this week is like the dealing-with-rude-and-$%#@%$#@&-clients week! Every morning we will receive 1 or 2 emails that piss us off and no matter how arghhhhh we are, we just can’t reply in the bitchy tone that we want…Zzzz.

Anyhow, mad late for kickboxing class and I missed almost the whole conditioning training D:
Dislike! Because it means I didn’t warm up enough and it’s also a waste of money!

Furthermore it was quite a slack session because Mr Lame gave us the choice of real training or friend-friend kind, and we chose friends. But eventually I was still split up what -___- Except that I wasn’t with the female coach this time but the tall girl~

Oh I hate it when Mr Lame tried to insult my involvement in NDP just because it’s not his kind of passion! He was like, “Why do so much for the country?!“

Oh com’on! I’m not even doing it because I’m mad patriotic or what (despite the fact that I do love Singapore)! It’s the passion! The passion of performing arts!

Some people are happy when they earn big bucks, drive big car and live in a big house – this is their so-called dream, but NOT MINE. My dream is to do all the things that I enjoy and I am living my dream right now! I don’t wanna be the kind that happened to die today and still have lots of things that I wanna do!

So just because it’s not your kind of passion doesn’t mean you can insult it! That is like saying, “Hey your job is so boring, you should all work the same line as me“; it’s just purely RETARDED!

And I am passionate about performing arts doesn’t mean I have to join some arts theatre or what! I have passion in so many other things like video-editing, blogging and even muay thai, so am I supposed to split myself up and be a full-time editor / blogger / muay thai fighter / performer?!

I am not the kind that needs to be the best in something in order to enjoy it. I am satisfied enough to be involved and to be doing what I like! I don’t need to devote ALL my time to any of them; I prefer to balance my time well to enjoy all of them.

As much as I wish for, I know that I do not have the talent for dance. So Chingay or NDP is like the stage which allows me to fulfill my dream without having to be some professional dancer!

It doesn’t matter that no one can really spot each individual of us from the seat/TV; the passion is about performing, not shining out.
