Went shopping today!!!

I just love living in photos…hahaha. Everything looks so nice just by playing with angle and lighting..hehe. Oh oh! Finally got the chance to wear the beautiful earrings that my brother got for me from Japan! Lovely~

Finally get to shop like after soooo long! GSS is ending real soon! So gotta shop gotta shop!

But didn’t buy anything today
Sales everywhere; Mango, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge & etc. But didn’t see anything that I like…boo! Only bought nail polish remover and eye mask -.-

Finally saw a pair of heel in Charles and Keith that I like! Over-budget but I didn’t care. I just want it. In the end, don’t have size 37 -cry-
It’s like FINALLY I found one that I fancy!!! ARGH!
I think every girl is a Cinderella. If the shoe looks nice on your feet, it’s just meant to be yours. If it doesn’t, no matter how nice the shoe actually is, that’s it.

Intended to shop from town to Cityhall then to Bugis. But ended up shopping from Far East to PS only. In fact, to Wisma only =x

Went to find the guys at KPool first. Then Shimin and I left to have dinner at MOS Burger. Continued our chat which we stopped last week..lol. Chatted till 10pm! I can’t believe we could actually stand the group who were smoking behind us -.-

Alright. About work now. Yea yea…the boring part comes.

Ehhh…today wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Haha. On the Beat actually booked 2 rooms today. So Wenny and I were editing in 1 room each.

Spent the whole day doing CG (graphics) aka chyron aka those words that suddenly fly in to create comical effect or provide info. My weakest link! One thing I like about editing drama is because there isn’t much effects! Hahaha! I’m just so inept when it comes to CGs…Zzzz. Back in school, we weren’t even trained on this. So it’s really a challenge for a F9 Art student like me -.-

Took quite long to do =x
Cause kept trying different fonts, different colors, then different effects =.=
I think those can actually be done in few hours =x
But the color alone is enough to make me vomit blood. Cause gotta choose the fill color, border color and shade color! Then my colour combination is like totally CMI lah … Zzzz. It’s supposed to be a simple task. But it’s a tough one for me =x

After Wenny and Angie (2nd producer) looked at my CGs, they were like, “Why all the same font one? And why no effects?” So Wenny salvaged it with many many chim-looking effects.

Angie actually gave me permission to go off at 11 when I had finished all the CGs. But I chose to stay to watch them dump out, as well as watch how Wenny did those CGs. Don’t have to work tomorrow anyway

Gosh…after looking at Wenny’s CGs, I really think mine are like trash. Totally CMI! Zzzz!
Initially I still thought it was okayyy…at least can make it. But then I realised what a real CG is -.-

Finally finished dumping out at 12+ am. Finally got the chance to consult Wenny regarding the CGs…hahaha. Really learned some useful tips from her man. I didn’t even know an asterisk - * can also be used as a CG!

Really got much more to learn …
But too bad Wenny is leaving soon
Quite sad when I heard about it from her while walking out. She’s really a nice shifu! (:

I didn’t get to edit today

The Golden Age producer - Lawrence said he wanna edit on his own. If not we would never get home -.-
I was already a little worried when I know he is 1 of those producers who is afraid of newbies But didn’t expect it to turn out to such extreme fear. It makes me feel really inferior. Hmmm or maybe I should feel happy that at least he did not pressurize me instead?

In the end he also trimmed till quite late lor =x

Was sitting there and watching him edit the whole day…Zzzz. Watching 黄金年华 leh! Totally can fall asleep =.=

Halfway through, he gave me a small task to do - insert shots. At least something to do lahhh. I wanted to continue trimming from where he stopped, but he came back and took over from me

Skipped dinner break cause everyone brought their own food..boo! Just when I needed a dinner break so badly (cause I simply got nothing to do!) -.-
Haix. Finally when the opposite room was free, he went over to trim his sequence, while I compiled everything together. Add effects, music and etc.

Then AP - Joseph came up to dump out with me at 10 plus. We were both like counting down to the end of show..lolol. Anyway I kept recalling the F&B Heroes episode which Joseph acted in it. Then he was kanna called the 多毛鬼..LOL! Was like laughing silently when I looked at his hand just now…ROFL. But he’s very friendly lahh

- It’s funny to see him sitting so still for the first time, and being like “controlled” by someone else…lolol.
- Was actually excited yesterday to meet the guys tonight. But somehow, I just didn’t feel like going just now. Haiz.

I used NETS and his lousy machine couldn’t read my card. I tried another card and it didn’t work as well. Which means it wasn’t my card’s fault.

That time when I took MC, I escaped away from Her Sense, a show that I’m quite scared of the producer also.

But what’s yours will eventually be yours…lol. Edited Her Sense today and phew! Everything turned out fine! I was so scared that I cabbed down to work when I was still at the bus-stop at 3pm =.=

Started off continuing from whatever Adelyn has done. The producer - Kerlin went out, so I get to edit on my own (:

Done and called her back. Then she said she gotta trim the sequence for previous episode first, so that I can take over and cover shots. She said I can go for dinner or anywhere I want =x
So went to find Fang, who was editing Glamour Mum. Waited quite some time before we headed off for dinner (:

Quite pathetic today, only Serene, Fang and I dined together…lol. Cause Ting and Effie on leave Then poor Jane gotta rush for Superband edit. The show ends at 9pm and the result show is 11.30pm! See how 伟大 are editors…lol.

Was worrying the whole day that I would go home late today, cause gotta wake up early the next day..Zzz. Was also afraid that Kerlin would feel that I took such a long dinner break =x

But luckily when I went back, she was not done yet. Roamed around to chit-chat with other editors..lol. Then Barry (boss) walked past when Jane, Cynthia, Fang and I were in the same room, chatting away. I quickly explained, “我没有偷懒！ 我没有偷懒！(I’m not slacking … I’m not slacking! ) ” LOL.
He said he just walked past to say bye to us, not to say we slacking..lolol.

Then Kerlin was done halfway and she told me to do the half first, while she had her dinner. Had some confusion initially, cause I didn’t understand the “producer language” again =x
Luckily later on she left me alone to do, cause her contact lens was giving her problem and she gotta make a trip home. Everything went well, cause was quite easy (:

Kerlin called to ask if there was empty room for her to add locators for the remaining half of the sequence. Cause even if she were to come back, she would only be watching me edit. Then after I finish, I still have to wait for her to finish her part before I can continue, right?

So she came back at around 11pm to use Jane’s room. By then, I had just nice finished my part. She told me, “You finish right? Then okay lor.” I didn’t know if the “okay” means I could go off, or it means I should wait for her to finish her part then continue =x
So I didn’t dare to go off -.-

Indirectly asked her, “So nothing already right?” But she only answered, “Yah. Nothing already.” She still didn’t say I can go off!!! So I continued staying =x

Then Shiong Qiang happened to come in and borrowed my room to make some amendments. The show is airing tomorrow night and there were still few errors =x
1 of them was my fault I think … missed the render for 1 part. So I stayed back to watch him do, helping him whenever he needed my help (:
1 of my favourite producers, of course I won’t mind staying…hehe.

After he left, I asked Kerlin if she still needs my room, since she was already using Jane’s. Then she said I can shut down. YAY! Finally got the answer! LOL.

Oh yea…Chee Beng asked me about the extension of my internship matter again. I voiced out that I can’t work everyday, cause I’ve officially joined O School with Colin they all. And I need my Saturday for community service (MINDS).
He was like, “Community service??? Wah you so kind one ar?” =.=

Such a doubtful tone. Reminds me of my days in Sentosa, when people used to say to me, “HUH?! You don’t smoke one meh?!” Zzzz!

Anyway, he said he’s going to see if he can get a 3-days-per-week contract for me That’s a perfect contract man! LOL.

Got another good news when I got home

Gosh! Few weeks ago, I was informed that my application for NP scholarship was unsuccessful. Quite disappointed, cause there goes my 3K. But also accepted the fact cause my GPA dropped like !@£$%^& this year.

Then today, I was informed that I got this unknown scholarship which I don’t remember applying for! Hahaha! 2K…not bad lar
Just nice, when I am in need of money to pay for dance and stuff…hehe!

I have once said to Shimin, “The reason why you’re always not satisfied with yourself is because you compared yourself with someone better”. I mean why do people have to compare with someone better and make yourself inferior? I truly think that’s the reason why people often get unhappy - expectations.

Sitting by the beach last night, I was thinking why human beings always have to expect so much in life? Why can’t life just be as simple as sitting by the sea and enjoying the breeze and waves? Why can’t people slow down their pace in life and take a look at things around them, realising how fortunate they are? Why can’t people be as easily satisfied like those MINDS residents?

I really think many people are actually very blessed, but they do not feel so. In other words, 生在福中不知福。It all depends on who you compare yourself with. A small example: A certain youth might feel unhappy because her friend owns the latest MP3 and she doesn’t. Well, that’s because she compared herself with someone “more fortunate”. If she were to compare herself with kids who don’t even have a handphone with MP3 function, now, she would have realised how fortunate she is.

Like me, I always complain about not having a happy family. And that’s because I compared myself with people with happy families. But I’ve never thought that at least I have very loving siblings.

Sis also … always pampering me with gifts, makeups, feasts and etc.
There are kids out there who don’t even have siblings to care for them, let alone parents.

Such little actions can actually make one realise 那小小的幸福 (the little bliss)。But it all depends on whether one still choose to compare him/herself with people with perfectly happy family or not.

So why choose to be unhappy when you can actually be happy by expecting less? 开心还是难过，路还是得走。 倒不如开心的走 (:

This is a lesson to me as well. I hope I can stop expecting so much. Especially expecting for things that I cannot have. Because of expectations, I’ve nearly lost friendship. Because of expectations, I didn’t know how fortunate I was. Because of expectations, I had hopes and disappointments. Because of expectations, I didn’t move on.

Haha. Alright. Sharing with you Cass’s super chio birthday cake now. I really loveeee her cakes. It’s like the nicest cake I’ve ever seen..hahaha. Super nice! (:

Woo! I finally went MINDS once again yesterday! Hahaha! I’ve MIA-ed for like 5-6 months man; ever since attachment started =x

So nice to see all the residents and volunteers again! Once Yinning and I reached, Dennis was like super surprised by my presence. He exclaimed, “Wah! You were gone for hundred years!” Lol.

Then Shawn also said that he haven’t seen me for very long, followed by Ken. Yea…quite guilty for my MIA lar. But it’s like when I was free to go, Yinning was not. Then when she was going, I was not free -.- Hopefully we will start going regularly again (:

Joined the cooking group again…haha. Guided them to cut apple, plum and strawberries. OMG. My heart was like jumping out when I looked at the way they cut. We are not supposed to help them, but just GUIDE them instead, cause gotta train them to do it themselves. Then there were so many times whereby this resident almost slice off her finger! Super freaky to watch her cut man.

I was attached to Soon Kiong most of the time yesterday. Guided him to cut his fruits, which required extra patience. He was the legendary “one-arm swordsman”..lol. Cause he kept cutting the fruits with only 1 hand! Haha. Then for the rest of the day, the other volunteers kept saying he only listens to me..lol. But actually it was just nice that I happened to walk over to persuade him when he had already finish throwing his tantrum. Lol.

Second part of the day was station games.

AHHHH! My favourite resident - Kong Pok! He was not the usual Mr Grumpy yesterday! He kept laughing yesterday lar! I think they just got their new tag, so he was damn happy to see his photo on the new tag. He kept looking at it and laughing happily Superrrr cute!

Then he shared his joy with other people..hahaha!

Didn’t manage to catch him laughing happily. So it’s the usual grumpy look…hehe.

They were helping this resident to start walking again. Cause he sprained/fractured his leg quite some time ago and has been over-reliant on the wheelchair. So Mun Chee (in white) took away his wheelchair and made him walk..lol.

I think these residents are happier than us. Cause ignorance is bliss. They do not have to care about so much things; they are easily satisfied (:

Anyhow, I’ve volunteered to be involved in the September TH anniversary planning, since my internship has ended by then. Hope the useless me can help in one way or another, cause I don’t really organise stuff often =x

After the debrief, I rushed down to Aljunied Park area to meet Thapa, Gui, Potato, Queena, Nua Nua, TCC and Sherman (their Maple friend) for Thapa’s birthday celebration (:

Thapa’s aunt cooked some Nepal dishes for us..lol. And she was very generous. Over-generous in fact =x
Thapa actually brought down one whole big PAIL of dumplings! They call it MoMo. LOL. Weird name~

We ate and ate and ate. Were already super full but we were still left with more than half a pail of MoMos!!! Super crazy.

In the end, we played forfeit games to clear them off =.= Man! I hate that. I hate to play such games without WJ…LOL!
Guys eat 5, girls eat 3…phew! Queena and I only kanna 3 each in total! Hahaha! Cause the guys were sabotaging each other, so they had a higher chance of getting forfeited. The poor birthday boy got the most MoMos! LOL. His plate was like filled with MoMos man! We played like many freaking rounds but still couldn’t see the bottom of the pail -.- Then FINALLY, we cleared all of them! But Thapa threw away his remaining share…Zzzz. He was the one who initiated this game lar! =.=

Left to meet WJ at ECP at around 9 plus.
When Potato told me they would be night-cycling, I had already thought of sitting at the jetty and enjoy the breeze instead =x
I truly prefer that.

But in the end, Gui accompanied me because he also didn’t wanna cycle. So we strolled while the rest cycled. Walked a long long way to the jetty and saw Thapa and WJ there. Settled down and started playing Dai Dee…lol.

Spent the whole night there. Then 1 by 1, they started to doze off. Even the birthday boy! =.= Quite a sad birthday lar =x

Kai down also. He joined us much later and brought some food from his previous party. The food were left untouched for few hours, until he and WJ started digging in disgustingly…lol.

Oh did I mention before? I love to touch his tummy! LOL. It’s really very very nice to touch! Hahaha! Ok I sound so sick. But trust me, he’s definitely more sick than me! He actually cut his fingernail and gave it to Shimin that day =.= Super disgusting and sick right! When I helped him pluck his damaged hair, he gave threw it to me also. Got nothing to do. So just lied down and started chatting with WJ. Interesting topic … I like! Lol!
But the conversation got me thinking as well. Hmmm … confused … and curious at the same time. Nevermind…haha!

Night-cycled to Mac toilet with Gui on the 2-seater once again The bike belonged to Queena & Potato, cause Queena doesn’t know how to cycle too..yay! Lol.

Cycled back to jetty after that.
Managed to catch like less than 1 hour of sleep -.-
Woke up and sat by the beach alone to catch the sunrise, but wasn’t very visible.

The sky just turned brighter and brighter….

I really really really love this feel. Even though it was like super cold last night, it was a very shiok feeling. The tranquility of the beach; silence except for the sound of calm waves; comfortable breeze … just love it (:

Cleared up the mess and everything, then Gui rode the 2-seater bike back to the jetty to fetch me..lol. I told him I’m a burden to him since the first day he met me. He said it’s such a fact that he must create a Wikipedia page for me to write about that =.= Lol.

Was effing shagged after that. But after I got home and bathed, I am not sleepy anymore =x
That’s why I am here to blog..hahaha.

Alright. But it’s time to catch some sleep now!

Overslept today..Zzzz. Guess I was really tired … have been sleeping for like 5-6 hours a day =.= I’m so not used to sleeping and waking up early!

Jing Qing called once I reached the room..haha. She called at 7am actually, but of course I had not reached. *Guilty*

Today was basically continuing from Wednesday. Did some digitising, photoshop, effects, then finally down to trimming the troublesome Loreal sequence. Yea cause Loreal sponsored, so gotta follow many rules. Cannot use the word “this”, cannot have clear shots of the products and etc. Zzzz.

Wasted a lot of time today. Partly because too many effects to be rendered, which lagged the computer. It was like every thing I click, I gotta wait for at least 10 seconds! So damn irritated by the computer that I wanna throw it on the floor =.=

Luckily Jing Qing was superrrr patient with me. Over-patient in fact. Felt so guilty that I didn’t really do much today actually =x

But she was very encouraging.

Jing Qing: Next week schedule out already?
Me: Yah..took a peek just now.
Jing Qing: Got kanna me?
Me: No…
Jing Qing: Aiyerrr…why never kanna me?
Me: Haha. You should be happy that you never kanna me.
Jing Qing: Cannot say this. Everyone has got a beginning stage. Yah lah..sometimes will get impatient lah. But it’s okay one.

Later on, she even said that she has told many other editors as well, “It’s like playing a game. You gotta go through many stages.” This was exactly what I wrote in my report that time! Hahaha. I’m glad that she shares the same thinking as me She’s really very understanding.

Then she praised me again today. She said I’m getting it already. As in … 上手了。

Oh yea…Erat brought up the topic of extending my days here again. I thought they would never mention it again, especially after I’ve created so much troubles. Yea..quite surprised. But that’s also because they’re desperate for people right now.

But in a dilemma as well. Cause I was rather determined NOT to continue. I’m sick of their shifts. Morning shift - 7am; too early. Afternoon shift - 3pm; in the middle of nowhere. Cannot go out before work, cannot go out after work..Zzzz. If I can work 9 to 5 everyday, then I won’t mind..lol.

Actually, I don’t wanna work EVERY weekday too. It’s like … I’ve been hoping that internship will end then I can enjoy my break. Like go out with friends on weekday, so that I have time for community service on weekend that kinda thing. But now gotta work lifelessly again and look forward to weekend everyday? Zzzz. Yet I need the money, and need something to occupy my holiday. I can’t be going out EVERYDAY right? So yea.

Tough decision. Maybe I should look at the pay instead. It’s definitely gonna be higher than internship pay. But I wonder how much is it. I wanna be freelancer! Earn sooo much more! Can work whenever you want! Can even choose if you wanna edit that show or not! Hahaha. But of course, I’m not up to standard yet, so I can’t expect so much
