22 August 2012 (Wednesday)
Had another good 8-hour of sleep before waking up to prepare for the day again! I like the fact that our itinerary is not too packed nor too slack, just nice for a day and for a good rest! 😀 I mean what’s the point of a holiday if you get yourself all tired at the end right?!
So anyway, it’s another day that we looked forward to because we gonna have sashimi~! Glad that Joanjoan is also a great fan of sashimi so we have like a mutual agreement for that…hehe!
Like many other guest houses, House Ikebukuro provides free breakfast – toast & jam!
And knowing that we gonna take some time to travel for our fresh sashimi, we decided to make ourselves a toast (:
Got my sausage from 7-11 as well! 😀
Off to our first stop!
This is how I labelled my maps xD
And here we are, at the Tsukiji Fish Market! 😀
It was real hottttttttttttt~
Shophouses selling all the local delicacies!
Chanced upon a shop selling Tamagoyaki!
Yes! This is the sweet egg that you see on your sushi! I think it’s nice but you can get quite sick eating the whole stick of it =/
It’s beri beri hot!!!
So happy to see samples and happened to try the ginger instead T.T
Sushi candies! 😀
Most creative Christmas tree???
Finished exploring the shophouses and decided to head to the real market area for sashimi! That’s where the real fresh sashimi are because all the bidding took place early in the morning and that’s where the restaurants in the market take their daily supply from~
We were even ready to queue up to 2 hours for the restaurant that my brother recommended us!!! But super sadly, after checking with the information counter, we got informed that the market is closed for washing! Yes, closed for the day! –CRY!–
Our itinerary was going so smoothly that this became our first setback x.x
Super sadddddd because we were really looking forward to it! Nevertheless, we are still going to have our sashimi for sure!
The staff from the info counter recommended us a few other restaurants along the shophouses instead and after checking them out, we settled on すし大！
The menu was all in Japanese and luckily there was a staff who speaks Mandarin there…phew~
Chefs at work!
This chef has a very serious look when he is working on our sushi~
And his name is 我妻 (my wife)! I am imagining him as those real devoted man who puts this name on his name tag so that she will be always close to her heart even at work…hahaha! That will be so sweet xD
What a big plate of rice! O.O
Happened to see the calendar in the restaurant and we were indeed kinda suay~ Cause the market opens like every day but just for certain Wednesdays, it will be closed for washing and this happened to be the day we were there T.T
Waiting for our sushi and sashimi! 😀
Here comes our tuna sashimi~! We actually wanted salmon sashimi, which is what we usually eat, but somehow they don’t have it x.x
Our variety of sushi!
But since we were more of a fan of sashimi and not sushi, the meal did not really satisfy our craving~ We want our salmon sashimi!!! But we were actually kinda full after the meal. Can’t believe it’s supposed to be for 1 person O.O How to eat so many sushi on your own?!
Checked out a few other restaurants in an attempt to find our salmon sashimi but somehow either salmon is not popular there, or it’s too “low class” for restaurants, we could not really find any! I want my salmonnnnnnnnnnnn D:
It was really really hot (you gonna hear me saying this in all the posts!) and we saw people sucking on Popsicle, so we went to get one from the uncle selling on the street too! 😀
Told her that this looks very wrong -___-“
Ahhhh~ Now we have a proper happy-girl-with-Popsicle shot! Haha! It was shiokkkkkkk to have the ice stick under such weather by the way!!!
Messy hair + big face.
Finishing our Popsicle before taking the train!
Cute Rilakkuma spotted!
Off to our next station~!
Once again, their complicated train map =/
Touch-screen vending machine!
And here we are, at Yurakucho!
There is no particular places of interest in this area, but we were just there for the Hokkaido shop, big MUJI outlet and an alley (again)!
Found the Hokkaido shop right in front of the station! (:
But most of the tempting confectioneries are refrigerated and there was not much to buy back~ We only bought a couple of cheesecakes that we thought is what my brother recommended, but it turned out that he was referring to those refrigerated ones! x.x
With the big ice-cream!
We were looking for this alley with red lanterns that my brother recommended for photos again, but no one seems to know where is it! =/
Finally found an ulu alley with red lanterns!
So many red lanterns some more!
But it doesn’t seem like a nice photography place leh =/
Just looks like some ulu alley which happened to have red lanterns as well -.- I think it’s not the one my brother was referring to.
Left and went for shopping instead! Clothes are over-budget for us so we were mostly shopping for beauty products and Japanese goodies instead! Hehe!
Saw some filming going on~
The big MUJI outlet!
Welcome to MUJI~!
Visited the washroom and decided to snap a few shots because my brother has been very impressed with the bidet function, which comes with almost all the toilet bowls in Japan, even the ones in our guest house! Basically it washes your backside for you -.-“
I did not dare to try it because I find it unhygienic in a way =/
Anyway, I was looking all over for the flush and I actually missed this!
Even has a mini chute for the toilet roll!
Cam-whoring in the washroom! 😀
Modelling for me xD
Their MUJI even has a nice dining place, just like IKEA!
Moved on to our next destination – Ginza, which is just walking distance away (:
Definitely not for shopping because this area is where all the luxurious brands are~ Just taking a look!
Whole building of branded goods~
It’s quite a tall and nice building!
Happened to walk past Vera Wang and this pretty wedding gown caught my attention! So simple and yet so beautiful~
Love the bottom part of this! I was even telling Joanjoan that this is the only time I really feel like getting married! Haha!
Touring around the area~
Another pretty building!
Had a hard time finding the right train station to get to our next destination! And after 2 nice ladies found it for us, we got to know from the train staff that it’s more convenient for us to go from where we came from – Yurakucho, so we walked back =/
Arrived at our next station – Hamamatsucho~! But this is not our destination yet; we still had to walk a distance before we reach~ You can actually see it here in this photo… It’s the Tokyo Tower! (:
One of the Japanese restaurants~
But before Tokyo Tower, we visited Zojoji Temple first, which is just beside it!
Washing our hands as usual~
Why so 不爽？？？
Zojoji Temple + Tokyo Tower!
My phone always makes the flare looks like a flower! 😀
Tried to take a photo with the 2 places of interest but turned out as silhouette x.x
Tokyo Tower from Zojoji temple~
I ❤ JAPAN!
These cute dolls with windmills caught my attention!
Even took a photo with them before I realised that each doll has a name on it… They are like the memorials for some war or something! >.<
Walked over to Tokyo Tower next and get ready for my photo spam! xD
From the exterior~
I am embarrassed to admit that before the visiting Tokyo Tower, I did not really know what is it about. I only know my brother told us to go there early so that we can catch the day to night view~
So we quickly bought the tickets because it was already 5 plus when we reached. Got ushered to the elevator, which brought us highhhhhh up~
This is when I realised Tokyo Tower is an observatory area to see the beautiful scenery of Tokyo! So we actually missed the chance of taking photo WITH the Tokyo Tower because we are already inside it! LOL!
Basically you get to see the 360 degree view of Tokyo, so I’ll let the photos do more of the talking now 😀 But as usual, more photos will be on Facebook~
Flooded with miniature buildings!
Like a palace~
So as I was walking around taking photos, this 老人 was taking a rest! Haha! She did not bring any camera and her phone had died on her, so she had nothing to do D:
The streets look beautiful at night! You’ll see them later (:
Pink Tokyo Tower!!!
Ahhhhh~ Super chio~!
Splurged on this overpriced postcard which caught my attention the moment I walked into the shop!
The sun is setting soon!
Watching the sun goes down~ So now I’ve watched sunset in Korea as well as Japan! 😀
Even the clouds are beautiful!
The last ray of light~
Our emo shots attempt xD
The night is starting to light up slowly~
6km to Shinjuku!
Night view of Tokyo~!
So lucky of this school to be able to see Tokyo Tower everyday~
Beautiful, isn’t it?!
And these are the streets that I was talking about!
Something that looks so common in the day actually turned out to be so beautiful at night~
The lit up city (:
Of course by now, the whole Tokyo Tower would have been lit up as well; just like this!
We finally took a picture with the Tokyo Tower!!! Hahaha!
Of course we would wanna take with the real tower, but before that, it’s souvenir-shopping first! Spent soooooo much time in the shops, especially the last because there are just so many tempting goodies that I had a hard time choosing!!!
Honey bees reuniting! 😀
Hello Kitty biscuit!!!!!
Each item is just so cuteeeeeee and shouting, “Buy me! Buy me!” Ahhhhhhhhh~~~~~
Look at this! So cute how to eat?! I wish I can buy everything back!!! But then again, they are not cheap of course~
I think this is the place that sucked up most of my money eventually. Bought like $100+ worth of goodies!!! So imagine having to lug all of them back to the station D:
Oh anyway, did I mention that I specially chose this shirt to be worn on this day so that I can take photo with the Tokyo Tower?! Haha!
Tokyo Tower at night time!
It’s prettyyyyyyyyyy~! Reminds me of Eiffel Tower, which I must visit!
Despite missing the chance to take a picture with the Tokyo Tower in the day time, we still did not give up on taking with it! Look at how we tried to 打灯 for ourselves using one phone while taking photo with the other! LOL!
Quite a successful shot by yours truly! 😀
My turn my turn!
Yay~! Although the wind was messing up my hair x.x
Failed to take the Polaroid shots though; turned out as 2 black films D:
Oh well~ Goodbye, Tokyo Tower! May we meet again!!!
Bought more goodies from a convenience store that we passed by earlier on and my hands almost broke from the bagsssss of heavy stuff! Joanjoan was like, “Can you ask someone to drive me back? D: ” Haha! I wish!
Girls in yukata for the summer festival~
Maddddddd tired after lugging all the goodies back! No strength to go out at all~ But we needed to pack anyway; moving out the next day!
Banana milk as dinner! Haha! I finished it in like 10 seconds even though it’s still incomparable with the real bottled one from Korea~ I miss the one real one!!!!!! D:
Got a surprise gift on my bed when I came back from the shower! 😀 Ahhhhhhh~ Thank you Mojo Monster!!! ❤
Goodnight everyone 😀
