很快的，又到了一年一度的妆艺大游行！Despite all the psycho-ing and the initial temptation to join June and the rest in their group, I remained faithful towards JAS in the end. Gonna miss everything if I leave; the nice Japanese and sinsei, the culture, the costume, the an pan, and everything Japanese there! ❤
Have been joining under NP each year despite having graduated, but this year, other than Xiao Qian, I have 1 more girl from NYP in my group, whom we got to know through past year(s) Chingay as well.
It’s kinda weird if I still submit the names under NP, so I decided to leave it to the sinsei to name our group. In the end, the group name was my name! So each time the sinsei calls out for our group, she would be shouting for none other than yours truly x.x
Made a new friend just because of this -_____-|||
Me: How did you know my name???
Guy: You told me Vivian is your group (name). But actually I didn’t know you are Vivian… Now I know!
Had a horrendous afternoon before I finally reached JAS! What happened was after finding my way for my appointment, I was rushing for the rehearsal and was happy to find out that I have straight bus to JAS.
So while I was looking at what other buses go to JAS, I saw that 52 goes to Adam Road as well and from my memory, it goes to NP, so most likely the route would be about the same as bus 74. But before I could check if it really stops at JAS, 52 was right behind me and I happily ran for it.
The next thing I realised, I was on an expressway T.T
Yes, it does go to NP, but through the PIE or whatever E so it does not go to JAS at all! So just when I thought I could make it in time, I wasted like 40 minutes travelling back from NP to JAS. Hi alma mater, I know I missed you.
Got changed and went through a few rounds of practice together~ Thank goodness this year’s costume can’t be easier to put on. It’s basically just a happi vest without belt or anything, and the must-have headband (:
I usually spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out the best way to tie the headband without messing up my fringe and this was one of it that I tried! Minnie style…haha! I actually like it, but one of my favourite sinsei happened to come in and she went, “可以不要这样吗？ x.x ”
I was stunned because this is my first time hearing her speak in Mandarin! Then I thought that is probably the only line she knows. But she went on explaining that the headband is supposed to be more warrior-like and this is too kawaii…haha!
Seriously surprised that she can speak Mandarin so well because for the past few years, we have always been struggling trying to communicate in English with each other! Why didn’t she just use Mandarin ah???
We were all pretty looking forward to see our float because it looked quite pretty in the photo concept shown to us, but it turned out to be quite a disappointment…
But I strongly believe that this is just a super incomplete version; our final one will be pretty like the photo! 😀 So I’m still gonna vote for our float even if it’s not the prettiest that I saw! When Aries love something, we just love the good and bad of it…hehehehe.
Was trying to find June once I reached and this woman was playing hide-and-seek with me -.- It turned out that she was still preparing~ Now I’m thankful that our costume is so much more simple!
Had a few mouthfuls before reuniting with her again and off we went to chit-chat with the rest! So happy to see all the NDP-mates and so many familiar faces around 😀 It’s like where ever I walk there is someone saying Hi to me and some of them I could not even recognise their made up face! Haha!
Got the ever-nice Eric to help us look after our bags this year and he ended up carrying my heavy bag (with June’s inside) around without any complaint! He even wanted to continue carrying for me after I finished my rehearsal and was waiting for June, because he was afraid that I might be too tired after the rehearsal. Where got people so nice one?!
Ordered her to go back to get her bottoms on and she never came back! What a mother, leaving her child waiting and waiting there for her…tsk tsk!!! And when I saw her again, it was because the pre-parade is starting and her group is gathering -___-”
Since we are not involved in the pre-parade, we had a long waiting time which we used to take photos! Hehe!
We had plenty of time to waste so I decided to risk my life and head over to PAYM tent to look for my dearest panda! Everyone was giving me weird stares because I felt so out of place in my costume =/
But met many more familiar faces there and it suddenly felt like a meet-and-greet session…hahaha! Then the cute Jia Jia finally appeared, screaming my name and running towards me from a distance and giving me a bigggg hug! Awwww~
The parade finally started and it was soon our turn to perform! I used “perform” instead of “rehearse” because we really treated it like a performance, giving our best! But our music kept getting cut off at the last 2 beats and it’s a major turn-off!!!!!
It’s like every single time the music changed before we could finish our last pose! I think it’s super rude no matter towards the song composer or the performers -.- Imagine you singing an emo song and the very end is where you end off with all your emotional feelings but the music got cut off before you finish 拉-ing the 音….Zzzzz.
Seriously hope it does not happen again during the next rehearsal, super spoiler and demoralising. But other than that, it was like a great workout because we all really sweated it out after dancing again and again at each stopping point! Would have been more high if there were more audience standing around! (:
How do I ever give up on a passion like this? I miss it already!
