Aussie Day 2 – Queen Victoria Building!

Rise and shine after a good sleep! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

The early birds were already having breakfast! I am considered quite an early bird too since I know I need time to prepare, so I will try to wake up earlier~ But Tiff is still the earliest bird every day, because she needs at least 2 hours to prepare ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Whereas the cute couple is very fast in their preparation, so they are usually very on time too!
 photo 20160902_100734_zpsffpusefd.jpg

Love how we get to sit together and have breakfast together like a family…hehe! But due to the differences in waking up time and preparation time, we can hardly have everyone eating together at the same time ๐Ÿ˜ Usually the early birds would have been done by the time the late birds come down~

My sumptuous breakfast – strawberries, cake from clubhouse last night, bread from Singapore and fruit juice!
 photo 20160902_100854_zps3qwqghkb.jpg

It’s a gluten-free cake and Tiff and I figured that it’s not our kind of cake ๐Ÿ˜ Gluten-free is not our thing. But it’s chocolatey and nice luh~ Just not a fan of the kueh texture.
 photo 20160902_100847_zpspkzmrlkx.jpg

Set off to our first destination – Town Hall station! A little change of plan because it was a rainy day, so we decided to visit somewhere indoor instead~ So first stop – Queen Victoria Building, which was supposed to be day 1’s plan! ๐Ÿ˜€
 photo 20160902_120351_zpsflikrteq.jpg

A group picture before Mr Chan left to meet his old friend for coffee! Oh Mommeyyyy did not join us because of her leg problem and also because she had visited most of the places that we wanna go. She really flew here mainly to SEE us! (((:
 photo 20160902_120409_zpsmu60m0rr.jpg

I only know the building is well-known for its pretty interior and exterior. They are a lot of shops inside too, but mostly designer brands or not things that we would buy back~ So we had a photography session inside instead!

 photo 20160902_121915_zpsorsehfvf.jpg

We stayed at this Great Australian Clock spot for a long time because it’s quite a nice spot for pictures! ๐Ÿ˜€ Took the chance to brush up my photography skill too with my Canon camera! I think it takes really nice pictures and I am so glad that it came right in time for this trip! Hehe!

Practise and being practised on~

A selfie with the clock!

 photo IMG_0029_zpskdmrdvop.jpg

Photo-inception! xD

 photo 20160902_121635_zpsql5ymmtx.jpg

With the pretty clock!

 photo 20160902_121644_zpswryrggip.jpg

With Ah Tiff!

 photo 20160902_122251_zpskbyqjbtd.jpg

A group pic minus 1! Haha!

And more clock shots! Oops~ Too pretty, can’t help it ๐Ÿ˜…

The EOS M10 camera comes with 2 zoom lens but I only brought 1 because it’s heavy. Still, it’s good enough and despite zooming so much into the clock’s figurines, the details remain quite clear! I’m impressed!
 photo IMG_0034_zpsjv5mzw5m.jpg

And the clock has this cute ship that moves around it like the clock’s hand but it’s a ship instead of a stick ๐Ÿ˜€
 photo IMG_0039_zpsoymwqomd.jpg

A last glimpse of the top storey before we move downwards (:
 photo IMG_0036_zpsavj64bym.jpg

And it’s the Great Australian Clock once again but from a different level’s point of view! ๐Ÿ˜†
 photo IMG_0022_zpsenstdmoi.jpg

So pretty, isn’t it? ๐Ÿ˜
 photo IMG_0074_zpsq3vwoh4b.jpg
 photo IMG_0071_zpsmkfglqqc.jpg
 photo IMG_0072_zpsigchcwwu.jpg

Okay, enough of the Great Australian Clock. Now, presenting you the Royal Clock! ๐Ÿ˜‚
 photo IMG_0055_zpsr12bea70.jpg
 photo IMG_0053_zpsaz2csbsc.jpg

I actually like this clock a lot too even though it looks simpler than the Great Australian Clock~ It has Tiffany & Co‘s feel because of the colour combination! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

A glimpse of all the shops that we can’t afford ๐Ÿ˜

Bee boots spotted!!! ^^

 photo IMG_0057_zpsthho3cn4.jpg

I quite like this shot ((:

Moving on to practise photography on the stained glass windows! Definitely reminds me of the churches in Europe~
 photo IMG_0065_zpskervi3xz.jpg
 photo IMG_0042_zps4wsr7eum.jpg
 photo IMG_0067_zps9tfqyu3l.jpg

And the pretty ceilings as well! Of course the pretty is not the Europe-painted-ceiling kind of pretty but it has its own beauty (:
 photo IMG_0070_zpsnjnk6k8d.jpg

My neck almost break trying to get a nice symmetrical shots of this ceiling and I concluded that photography can be damn tiring!!! Hahaha!

 photo 20160902_123412-1_zpsjaxzqadq.jpg

Under the pretty ceiling!

And in case you’re wondering where’s Leng Leng, here is she! Still busy with the endless phone calls all day long~ I really pity people who have to bring their work on holiday ๐Ÿ˜ I mean I genuinely feel sad for them. What’s a holiday if you still gotta work…hmmmm.
 photo IMG_0066_zpsn0dz1yrn.jpg

Attempting a wefie with the ceiling!
 photo 14361385_10154481645212192_1254485868128239402_o_zpsiar31yvc.jpg
 photo IMG_0079_zpswg3g6qbs.jpg

Done with our photography session inside and off we went to buy the famous atas Haigh’s Chocolates that Karen recommended! ๐Ÿ˜€
 photo IMG_0080_zps8lalvbz9.jpg

Then it was time to check out the exterior! This beautiful building is the Sydney Town Hall! It’s not in our itinerary so we did not go in to see, only chanced upon it when we were crossing the road to the building beside~
 photo IMG_0083_zpsfiqvqrgf.jpg

A pity there is construction work outside the Queen Victoria Building, which really spoiled the beauty of it! The building is actually really beautiful especially at night!
 photo IMG_0084_zpsvsfrg4hq.jpg
 photo IMG_0085_zps34atfepa.jpg

So the reason why we braved through the rain to the building beside is because I wanna visit the famous Black Star Pastry that my colleague recommended ๐Ÿ˜…
 photo 20160902_133808_zpswfgw62sx.jpg

And this is the popular watermelon cake that she recommended! I actually went there for this but chose another cake in the end…hahaha! This was Tiff’s order and I took a shot of it at the cashier before it got all squishy, flimsy and yucky~
 photo 20160902_133904_zpsuhnnfnbk.jpg

Reunited with Mr Chan and off we went to our next destination! As you can tell, Leng Leng is still still still being bombarded by work matters ๐Ÿ˜
 photo 14324439_10154481646987192_1567766685109366032_o_zpsurixfhlb.jpg

Spotted the signature Opera House the moment we got off the train! A pity the sky was really gloomy and not as blue as the previous day~
 photo 20160902_140333_zps4yblgtpb.jpg
 photo IMG_0087_zpsrvt4hhhf.jpg

And hello Harbour Bridge too! ๐Ÿ˜€
 photo 20160902_140339_zpsxuwwupvl.jpg
 photo IMG_0086_zpsuoxdsefu.jpg

As you can tell, the Friday Foodie Market only happens on Fridays, like duh~ And we were only left with less than an hour when we arrived! But there wasn’t as much as I had expected, just a few stalls and we finished them in no time. Maybe it’s also because of the bad weather, so only a few stallholders were there ๐Ÿ˜”
 photo 20160902_141444_zpstyuwjb0q.jpg

Found this prata-looking bites with spinach and cheese inside! It’s quite yummy ๐Ÿ˜€ I love spinach!!!
 photo 20160902_142342_zpsl3mtok5p.jpg

It’s also nice to have something warm under such cold weather (((:
 photo 20160902_142734_zpskrwd97ju.jpg

But the rainy day really caused much inconvenience and delays to our plans ๐Ÿ˜ฃ Not only we gotta put on ugly ponchos, our shoes and socks were all wet from the rain too! Damn disgusting!
 photo 20160902_113552_zpsfqtnp8qg.jpg

And we had to skip some places for the day due to time constraint, because travelling in a big group really takes more time than I had expected~ Maybe my itinerary is only meant for myself ๐Ÿ˜…

I thought the foodie market would have enough food to feed us, but everyone (except me) were still hungry ๐Ÿ˜ So impromptu decision to check out the famous Pancakes On The Rock!
 photo 20160902_144255-17_zps6ehd2ys6.jpg
 photo 20160902_143634_zpsk1zanw3w.jpg

It took us a reallyย longgggggย walk to finally find it! Felt so bad for poor Karen and also Ronald, who was freezing from the cold โ˜น Finally having our first proper meal of the day (except breakfast) at odd hour again! Haha!
 photo 20160902_153432_zpsr0bqwyvm.jpg

Black forest pancake to share as dessert! It looks literally like shit but it’s pretty good!
 photo 20160902_162037_zpsrq37t8gs.jpg

I did not order any mains because I was looking forward to finally eat my cake from Black Star! This is the lychee raspberry cake that caught my eye ๐Ÿ˜ It’s super nice!!! Nicer than the watermelon cake in my humble opinion…hehe.
 photo 20160902_155415_zpswpllxv68.jpg

The lottery-king – Mr Chan spotted the Aussie TOTO and we decided pool money to buy the 21 million lottery! Hahaha! Day-dreaming all the way till Aussie! ๐Ÿ˜
 photo 20160902_171538_zps6kndsus4.jpg
 photo 20160902_1715340_zpsqhdivo6g.jpg

Moved on to our last destination – Chinatown, which is located at the Central station!
 photo 20160902_174853_zpsonszeakv.jpg

This is the busiest station in New South Wales but it wasn’t as crowded as I had expected ๐Ÿ˜… Just many more homeless people sleeping at the station~
 photo 20160902_195359_1_zps6hicyekc.jpg

The mates were looking forward to visit Chinatown because they were already missing Asian food and hot soup on day 2! Hahaha!
 photo 20160902_174928_zpspza8aexg.jpg

Clock tower at Central station! Yes, clock again~ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
 photo 20160902_195016_zpsab1dent8.jpg
 photo 20160902_195052_zpssemc0f0k.jpg

Arrived at the Chinatown! Probably one of the very few places you will see Chinese words in Aussie!
 photo 20160902_181030_zpsvilqzob9.jpg

 photo 20160902_182801_zpsw1gcfxp5.jpg

No proper street shot of the Chinatown because it was still drizzling~ It basically rained the entire day! But at least there were still more stalls than the foodie market, just that all the food were rather overpriced. Saw prata!!! I definitely miss curry and all the spicy food during this trip, but I think this prata was at least 4 bucks and above ๐Ÿ˜‘
 photo 20160902_182411_zpsklatt41k.jpg
 photo 20160902_182417_zpslwcil2mi.jpg

Ended the night after some Chinese food at the food court. The food were quite expensive too but the portion was crazy, especially the mountain of rice! We did not order that but we were quite shocked by all the portions we saw at other tables ๐Ÿ˜…

Headed back to deliver Mommeyyyyy her sandwich and medicine! She was down with cough and was in the apartment the whole day due to the rain~ Luckily she’s a mouse and knows how to steal bread from the dining table…hahaha!
